DCSD is excited to announce our new free public K-12 online
school for families with a desire to stay enrolled in Douglas
County schools and engage with the community, but want the
opportunity for students receive full virtual learning.
Douglas Nevada Online utilizes the Edgenuity distance learning platform as the online curriculum for all courses. Edgenuity courses provide age-appropriate, standards-based, engaging lessons with access to tools that support learning, including text to speech, audio and translation, text and picture dictionaries, and more.
Elementary students will have access to core classes in language arts, math, social studies and science, as well as technology, art, and health, and physical education.
Secondary students who select this option will have access to grade level material, and may recover credit or earn more credit than they would in a traditional model if they work hard. Secondary students may select honors courses, Advanced Placement courses, and electives.
Each Douglas Nevada Online student will have access to a DCSD certified teacher for questions and support. Students enrolled in Douglas Nevada Online will be able to work at their own pace and schedule. Edgenuity is parent friendly with easy accessibility for parents to view student progress.
