Guided Notes

What if I don’t do my notes?

We will not open your test.

No notes = no unit test release

If you don't provide Kami Notes, we will reset your test review.

Notes are essential to learning and being able to demonstrate proficiency.

NOTE: Anything you don’t link into Edgenuity, hand write, or print out is not available on the final exam. If you want your notes, save them into the enotes box as links or print them out.

Explained!

Taking Notes, Guided Notes, Sharing Notes into Enotes

ALL STUDENTS, IN ANY EDGENUITY CLASS, INCLUDING CREDIT RECOVERY, MUST COMPLETE NOTES FOR EVERY LESSON, IN EVERY UNIT AND SHARE THEM WITH THEIR INSTRUCTOR.

• If guided notes are available, they are required.

• If there are no guided notes, here are the requirements…

1 A list of vocabulary definitions by itself is NOT enough notes. You need topics with details.

2 ½ page minimum per lesson

What the heck are guided notes?

Guided Notes are made by edgenuity and prompt you to fill in information about the lesson.  They are available from the course map in your edgenuity class. You can fill them out digitally, using Kami.

USING GUIDED NOTES WITH KAMI- (recommended as the easiest way).

To Open guided notes for a lesson in edgenuity…

  • In the edgenuity course map, click on the “+” sign in the blue bar for the lesson. It will become a “-” sign. “View guided notes” appears.
  • Click on “view guided notes”. They will open.

To Put guided notes in KAMI

  • In the screen that opens for guided notes, find the icon of a blue circle with a white K in it. This is the Kami icon. Click on it.
  • If you haven’t already, join Kami using google (follow their instructions). You may have to repeat this step, it doesn’t always work the first time.

  • Use the textbox function in Kami to type your answers into the guided notes.
  • CHECK the save icon

and be sure that the cloud has saved your changes before exiting. (read the drop-down menu carefully!)

WRITING YOUR NOTES DIRECTLY INTO THE ENOTES BOX

Why would you do this?

• No guided notes available

• You want to type your notes directly into the enotes box in edgenuity- simple and easy.

You need no additional skills except the ability to type into the enotes box in edgenuity using your keyboard.

To share your guided notes with your teacher in edgenuity…

  • In kami- finish editing your kami version of guided notes. Keep it OPEN.
  • Choose the share icon (sideways V with dots). It’s in the banner at the top right of the screen.

Continued next page…

  • A prompt asks you to upload. Choose “Upload to google”. If you already uploaded and worked on this doc, it won’t appear.

  • This window at right will appear. Check the “Sharing Permission” buttons. Choose “anyone with the link” and “viewer”. If the “anyone” button is not available, or disappears, choose “share with anyone in Douglas county school district” instead. (Yes, this is glitchy!).  Do NOT choose “restricted” or “my domain” sharing permissions.

  • Click on the “copy” icon in the same Google Sharing window shown at right. It will change to “copied” and may change back, depending on computer speed. You have now copied the link and you are ready to paste the link into edgenuity.
  • Open any assignment in the current lesson in edgenuity.
  • Open the eNotes box by clicking on the red “+” sign in the top right of the screen.

  • Use CTRL + V to paste the link into the eNotes box. Edgenuity doesn’t like the “paste” button.
  • Click on the“save” button.

  • Go to the notes icon in your edgenuity course map to see if the link shows up.
